"The King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry was a regiment of the British Army. It officially existed from 1881 to 1968, but its predecessors go back to 1755. In 1967 it merged with other county Light Infantry Regiments to form the Light Infantry Regiment.The regiment's traditions and history are now maintained by The Rifles."

"The Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment (29th/45th Foot) was an infantry regiment of the British Army, part of the Prince of Wales' Division. It was formed in 1970 through the amalgamation of two other regiments:

* The Worcestershire Regiment (29th Regiment of Foot / 36th Regiment of Foot)
* The Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment)
In August 2007, the regiment was renamed as the 2nd Battalion, Mercian Regiment (Worcesters and Foresters)."

"The King's Own Royal Border Regiment was an infantry regiment of the British Army, part of the King's Division. It was formed in 1959 through the amalgamation of two other regiments: * The King's Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster) * The Border RegimentIn 2004, as part of the restructuring of the infantry, it was announced that the King's Own Royal Border Regiment would amalgamate with the King's Regiment and the Queen's Lancashire Regiment to form the new Duke of Lancaster's Regiment (King's Lancashire and Border). The new regiment was formed on 1st July 2006, with the KORBR forming the 3rd Battalion."

1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards

"1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards (QDG) is a cavalry regiment of the British Army. It was formed in 1959 by the amalgamation of 1st King's Dragoon Guards and the Queen's Bays (2nd Dragoon Guards).Nicknamed The Welsh Cavalry the regiment recruits from Wales, Herefordshire, and Shropshire, and is the senior Heavy Cavalry Regiment, and therefore senior Cavalry Regiment of the Line. The regiment is part of the Royal Armoured Corps.The regiment currently operates in the formation reconnaissance role and is equipped with vehicles from the CVR(T) family. These include the Scimitar armoured reconnaissance vehicle; the Sultan command vehicle and Samaritan ambulance; the Spartan armoured personnel carrier and the Samson armoured recovery vehicle.The regiment is currently serving in Germany, having recently returned from Iraq on Operation Telic, its third tour to the region in three years. The regiment's cap badge is the Habsburg double headed eagle, which Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria allowed the 1st King’s Dragoon Guards to wear when he become their Colonel-in-Chief in 1896."

16th/5th The Queen's Royal Lancers
"The 16th/5th The Queen's Royal Lancers were a cavalry regiment of the British Army from 1922 to 1993. The regiment spent the Cold War mostly deployed in Germany, with tours in Northern Ireland, Cyprus, Aden and Hong Kong. During this time it was mostly operating as a reconnaissance unit. It operated in the Gulf War as part of 1 (British) Armoured Division. In 1993, as part of the reduction in forces after the end of the Cold War, it amalgamated with the 17th/21st Lancers to form The Queen's Royal Lancers."
